Job description

gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our client based in Newark for an experienced Deputy Manager.

This role involves overseeing two small care homes, each supporting up to 20 residents with dementia and elderly care needs. Both homes are located on the same street, directly across from each other.

Monday-Friday and 37.5 hours per week, on occasions you may need to work weekends and nights to meet the needs of the business. You will also expected to be included in an on-call rota when required.

Salary £30,000 £33,000 per annum dependant on experience

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, person-centered, holistic care, incorporating meaningful activities for people living with mental health conditions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and developments.
  • Oversee staffing levels to ensure appropriate levels of staff are maintained, taking action in the event of service gaps.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with Information Governance.
  • Practice within the guidance and legal framework of CQC Regulations and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety, Infection Control, Medication, Confidentiality, and National Medical Council’s standards and guidance.
  • Always ensure adherence to Information Governance and confidentiality.

Main Tasks and Service Delivery Duties:

  • Assist the Registered Manager in assessing prospective clients' needs and producing appropriate care plans and risk assessments for new admissions.
  • Lead in welcoming new residents and briefing staff to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to ongoing resident care assessments; attend resident and family meetings to maintain open communication channels.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with external health professionals and agencies, including CQC, Clinical Commissioning Groups, local NHS teams, GPs, and Pharmacists.
  • Participate in wider team activities within Hatzfeld Care Ltd, including attending management and team meetings.
  • Assess and compile reports on residents' well-being and satisfaction.
  • Ensure effective staff deployment to meet service needs, maintaining continuity where possible.
