gap healthcare is recruiting on behalf of our client for a compassionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join a Residential Children’s Home in Mundesley, Norfolk. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care while developing your leadership career in children’s social care.
About the Client
Our client is a forward-thinking, non-profit organisation that has provided specialist care and support to vulnerable young people across East Anglia for over 50 years. Their services include residential homes, a fostering agency and support for disabled children and their families.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home runs smoothly and continues to meet the highest standards of care and compliance. You’ll supervise and support a team of Support Workers, promoting a nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive physically, emotionally and socially. You’ll also help ensure the service meets Ofsted requirements and all safeguarding, health & safety and regulatory standards.
Salary: £33,428 per annum, rising to £34,980 following successful completion of probation. Maximum job rate £37,130 performance related
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day management of the home
- Supervise and motivate a team of Support Workers
- Champion high standards of care and regulatory compliance
- Foster strong, positive relationships with young people
- Provide hands-on support where required, ensuring consistency and compassion
- Promote a culture of reflection, continuous improvement, and team development
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a social care-related subject (essential)
- Effective leadership and team management skills
- Confident in supporting young people with complex emotional needs
